Celebrating dedication at the King’s Garden Party
Congratulations to Jayne, Egnes, Johnny and Samantha who received an invitation from our Royal Patron HRH Princess Alexandra to the Buckingham Palace Garden Party.
They joined Angela, FitzRoy Chief Executive and Alison, Finance Executive Director, for a special day.
Representing over 110 years of combined service, our colleagues were celebrated not just for their length of service, but for their unwavering commitment to transforming lives through care.
Among them was Jayne, West Midlands Area Manager, with a 30-year career in the care sector.
Jayne said: “In the early days, care was very institutionalised, it took dedicated staff to make changes and strive to deliver equality and person-centred care. These days, it’s all about supporting people to live the lives they choose, in their own homes and communities, with care that’s shaped around what really matters to them – a change I’ve been proud to be part of.”
Jayne began her career as a support worker and went on to spend two decades as a service manager before becoming an area manager.
Working with FitzRoy has been an amazing journey. Seeing people we support live fulfilled lives and achieve their goals is what makes this work so meaningful. It’s the dedication of our staff teams, living and breathing FitzRoy’s values, that ensures people we support remain at the centre of everything we do.
“Being recognised for my long service and hard work was incredibly rewarding and a humbling experience. It not only validated the years of dedication, commitment and quiet effort I put in but also reminded me of how much I’ve grown and contributed along the way – a moment I will cherish both professionally and personally. We had a wonderful day – we even saw the King after a very long wait!”
Angela, FitzRoy Chief Executive said: “What an absolute pleasure it was for FitzRoy to be invited to the King’s Garden Party. We had the most wonderful afternoon tea with some of our longest-serving members of staff. It’s a great honour to have HRH Princess Alexandra as our Royal Patron.”
