Celebrating the diversity of our workforce – launching FitzRoy’s Ethnicity and Inclusion Network
At FitzRoy, the people who work here bring a wide range of experiences, cultures, faiths and backgrounds to their roles. That diversity strengthens our organisation and helps us provide thoughtful, person-centred support to the people we work alongside every day.
To support open conversations and ensure colleagues have spaces to share experiences and shape the organisation, we are continuing to develop our staff networks.
Following the launch of our LGBTQ+ Network and Menopause Network, we are now introducing our Ethnicity and Inclusion Network.
Ethnicity and Inclusion Network
The network brings together colleagues whose experiences are shaped by ethnicity, culture, religion or global majority backgrounds, alongside those who want to listen, learn and support a more inclusive workplace.
These networks are an opportunity for colleagues across FitzRoy to connect with each other, share perspectives and help ensure that different voices are heard as we continue to develop our policies, practices and culture.
Our first meeting will take place on 24 March, where colleagues will meet informally to begin shaping the direction of the network and discuss what matters most to them.
Jennifer Ahamefule, co-chair of the network, said:
I am proud to be the co-chair of FitzRoy’s first Ethnicity and Inclusion Network. I encourage colleagues to attend our first session, where we will also be looking for anyone interested in being my fellow co-chair. Please get in touch if you have any questions.
Like our other staff networks, the Ethnicity and Inclusion Network will be shaped by the colleagues who take part in it. Early conversations will explore how experiences of culture, faith and ethnicity influence working life, and how the organisation can continue learning from the perspectives of our diverse workforce.
These discussions help ensure that FitzRoy continues to grow as an inclusive organisation where everyone feels respected, valued and able to contribute.
As the network develops, the insights and ideas shared will also help inform how FitzRoy continues to strengthen inclusion across the organisation.
We know that when colleagues feel they belong, everyone benefits – including the people we support.
