We stand united against hate
Our vision of a society where people are treated as equals within inclusive communities never felt further away as we saw the sickening racist and Islamophobic violence in our communities over the past week.
We stand united against hate with all our Black, Asian and Muslim staff, people we support, families and neighbours in our communities.
We will not tolerate any form of racist or Islamophobic discrimination, abuse, harassment or bullying. We have spent the last few days checking in with our FitzRoy community and putting measures in place to help them stay safe.
To our Black, Asian and Muslim staff, and everyone else who has felt unsafe or a target in the recent violence – I know many of you continue to feel scared. As FitzRoy’s Chief Executive, I want you to know that the Board and the Executive team are 100% behind you and we will do everything in our power to keep you safe. While it has been heartening to see the anti-racist marches going on across the country, we remain vigilant. We will continue to monitor the situation. The safety of the people we support and our staff is of paramount importance to us.
Our FitzRoy community represents the best of a society that values everyone, and we will make sure we take whatever action is needed to uphold that.
