Community spirit shines at Hampshire Day Services’ Summer Fete
On Friday 1st August, our Hampshire Day Services opened their doors for their annual Summer Fete in Petersfield, and what a day it was!
This year’s fete raised an incredible £592.80 for On Track, £93.60 for Rural Skills, and £71.56 for Waterlooville Day Service, with every penny going straight towards activities, trips, and materials to make a difference in people’s everyday lives.
The tiki bar served up colourful mocktails, while craft stalls, horticultural displays, face painting, and games and raffles kept everyone entertained. Homemade cakes and sausage rolls tempted guests throughout the day.
Katie, a member of On Track day service, said: “I had the best time. I was so excited for the raffle, and I even won a prize!”
The fete wasn’t just about stalls and games – it was a day for everyone to come together. Families, friends, volunteers, staff, and Petersfield locals all mingled, catching up with old friends and making new ones. The day was filled with fun, laughter, and connection.
The highlight was the amazing Petersfield Community Choir, who kindly gave up their time to sing for us. Their performance had everyone smiling, cheering, and humming along. Ysanne from the choir said: “Thank you so much for inviting us to sing. We all had a lovely time and we’re already booked for next year!”
A huge FitzRoy thank you to the local businesses that supported us with their generous prize donations: our local hairdressers, The Taro Leisure Centre, Mother Kelly’s Fish and Chip Shop, The Square Brewery Pub, and, of course, an extra special thank you to The Petersfield Community Choir.
Of course, a huge round of applause for the On Track team for their incredible effort in organising and hosting the fete. From weeks of preparation to setting up and running stalls on the day with enthusiasm, their teamwork and dedication were the heartbeat of this event. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone was included and part of the fun.
Well done to everyone involved, we can’t wait to do it all again next year!
