FitzRoy take on Pompey legends for fundraising footie match in September
Professional football players past and present known as the Pompey Legends will gather on Sunday 6 September 2015 at AFC Portchester to play a brave team from FitzRoy. The match will raise vital funds for FitzRoy’s Rural Skills project in East Meon.
Kick-off is at 10.30am and as well as some fantastic auction goodies including signed gloves from Jamie Ashdown who played in Pompey’s heady days in the Premier League, there will be family fun including a BBQ, bouncy castle, face-painting, delicious food, and a penalty shoot-out game. Pompey’s other legend – Touchline Tony – will commentate on the match.
FitzRoy’s Rural Skills project, based at the Sustainability Centre in East Meon, provides invaluable outdoor space and skills for adults with learning disabilities in Hampshire. Everyone who visits is encouraged to learn, develop confidence, build friendships and gain practical skills in horticulture, woodworking and crafting. All funds raised through this match will go towards building a new classroom on the site helping more people benefit from the resources.
Tickets are only £3 per person, and children go FREE, just turn up and pay at the gate.
