Love4Life provides a safe place for people with learning disabilities to make friends and find love. Research shows that 9/10 people with learning disabilities have been victim of aggression or violence from a stranger and vulnerable to exploitation when socialising. The people who join our ground-breaking project tell us it gives them a safe foundation to broaden their lives in a safe environment. Before joining Love4Life Sophie was lonely, had no confidence and was afraid to meet new people. She spent every night at home. Now with the support of Love4Life she is often out, has lots of friends, a lovely fiancé Ian. After participating in our confidence workshop she was thrilled to secure her first paying job.

 We rely on fundraised money to stay open, so this is an amazing opportunity for us. We are over the moon that the Big Give are doubling our donations. If you care about friendship and love and preventing loneliness and abuse, donate to our Big Give appeal during this week. Every day I see people who were once lonely, lacking in confidence, and suffering from isolation come together and enjoy life. Through meeting people in our safe environment, they grow in confidence, understand themselves and make friends. Not only do they have social events to look forward to each week, they learn vital life skills in our workshops, like interview skills, and staying safe online.

Many are keen to find a partner, and through our chaperoned dating service we’ve seen love blossom, and first dates turn into wedding plans. Without fundraised money Love4Life will close. Please help us keep it open and reach our Big Give target of £4,000.
