Generous donation from Waterlooville Golf Club
Steve Brewster, Seniors Captain of Waterlooville Golf Club, nominated FitzRoy as the chosen charity for his year as Captain. Steve rallied his senior members of Waterlooville Golf Club who together raised a fantastic £1750 through raffles and auctions.
Robyn Wedderburn, FitzRoy’s Director of HR, went along to Waterlooville Golf Club’s annual Seniors dinner to be presented with the cheque. She said:
We are immensely grateful to all the members of Waterlooville Golf Club who have given their time and money with such passion and generosity. This money will go a long way to helping us build an activity cabin in our home in Liss. It is an invaluable contribution to our mission to help people have the facilities and space that many of us take for granted every day.â
Steve Brewster commented:
We are delighted to have been able to recognise FitzRoy’s vital work supporting people to live the life they choose, with this gift. I have always preferred to support local charities, and my Seniors Captaincy of the Waterlooville Golf Club gave me the perfect opportunity to support a charity close to my heart, FitzRoy. Clearly the members shared my passion for wanting a local charity recipient, and contributed a very healthy £1750 through raffles and auctions held at various functions through the year. My grateful thanks go to them for their huge generosity.â
Robyn was also the guest speaker for the evening and did a cracking job. Little did we know that she used to play off a handicap of 12, and had a fair few golf jokes up her sleeve for the occasion too! The Seniors of Waterlooville Golf Club thoroughly enjoyed her company.
Thank you to all of the wonderful people who helped fundraise this generous amount. All of the money raised will go directly to transforming the lives of people with learning disabilities.
