Going the distance

Crispin, who FitzRoy supports in Residential Care in Malvern, lives hundreds of miles away from his Mum. Rita, a FitzRoy Service Manager, tells us how technology closed the distance and brought them together.

Because Crispin’s Mum lives far away, it’s not always easy for her to visit. Seeing the success of other residents using iPads, we thought this would be a great solution for Crispin and his Mum.

With support, he can now speak to his Mum on a regular basis on Skype. This is such a lovely way for Crispin to keep in touch. He seems to really enjoy the sessions and his Mum is now able to see him regularly without having to make long journeys.

We are now hoping that he can Skype his brother who he can’t see regularly due to distance.
