Love is in the air at On Track

Debbie and Christian first met at FitzRoy’s On Track day service in Petersfield around five years ago and quickly became inseparable. Their friendship blossomed into something more! Last Christmas, during On Track’s annual Christmas meal, Christian got down on one knee and proposed to Debbie.

Since then, Debbie and Christian have been planning how to celebrate their engagement in style. With support from Maria and the rest of  the On Track team, they brought their vision to life with a ‘Celebration of Love’ party.

Debbie and Christian chose the colour scheme, decorations, food and music. Around 35 guests – friends, family and staff – gathered to celebrate with homemade sausage rolls, sandwiches, scones with cream and jam and a toast of Bucks Fizz.

Debbie looked radiant in a white dress, while Christian wore a sharp suit and blue tie. Their first dance, to ‘I’ve Had the Time of My Life’ from Dirty Dancing, had everyone smiling and a ‘storyboard of love’ showed highlights from their years together. Friends Gail and Dean proudly stood by them as maid of honour and best man.

Maria said:

It was such a beautiful day. The team gave up their own time to make it happen – it was a real labour of love. Debbie and Christian knew exactly what they wanted and we just wanted to make sure it was everything they dreamed of. I’m really proud of the team for pulling it all together!

The day captured what FitzRoy is all about, supporting people to live their life on their own term and share special moments with the people that matter most to them.

Debbie said: “It was a wonderful day and both me and Christian felt truly blessed that all our family and friends where here to celebrate with us.”

Gail said: “Wow what an amazing time and honour to have been asked to be Debbie’s maid of honour and Debbie and Christian looked amazing.”
