Room in Hampshire care home for people with learning disabilities and autism
We have a bright and quiet room available in our Hampshire registered care home, Donec Mews.
Service manager Karen said: “We have a first floor room available for someone with learning disabilities in our welcoming and warm care home. The five other people who live in the house enjoy the quiet things in life. They like to watch TV with coffee and biscuits, but also enjoy going to the pub, country walks and meeting family. The kitchen is the hub of the house with everyone meeting there for meals or just a chat and a drink.
“The bedroom available has views across the countryside. The room has a lot of character, with eaves by the window giving it a unique country look. It also has an en-suite toilet and wash hand basin.”
What you can expect if you choose a FitzRoy home
Donec Mews is made up of three modern houses, each with five or six bedrooms. If you choose to live here we will support you to decorate your bedroom to your own taste. Each house is fully accessible to those in wheelchairs and has state of the art facilities, including assistive technology.
In each house there are two bathrooms, including an assisted bathroom on the ground floor. Each house also has its own garden, which have been designed for you to enjoy with your housemates.
Our focus will be independent living, and depending on the needs and wishes of the new tenants and what they would find fulfilling, we have an experienced staff team who could be offering support with any of the following and more:
- Picking out the furnishings and decoration for their new bedroom
- Choosing and preparing their own meals
- Keeping their home the way they like it
- Managing physical and mental health needs
- Volunteering, college or employment
- Getting out and about in the local community
- Meeting new people and making friends
The local area
Donec Mews is located in Grayshott on the Hampshire/Surrey border. It is in a beautiful rural setting which is quiet, private and safe. There are plenty of local shops and amenities close by which you can reach easily and it is also close to several other FitzRoy services, including On Track Day and Community Services.
