Royal Wedding celebrations at FitzRoy
Billions of people across the world celebrated the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, including many at FitzRoy’s services.
Members of The Maltings Day and Community Service in Norfolk organised a royal party to take place the day before the wedding. Support Worker, Sam Yarham, organised a âdecorate the wedding cake’ game with the winners getting to dress up as the Royal couple.
Kerensa Palmer, Deputy Manager, said:
We had a wonderful day with a traditional English tea party, a buffet, and cakes. In the afternoon everyone decided that they would like to have a big dance party. Everyone had a so much fun, including the staff.â
At Whitegates View, FitzRoy’s residential care home in Hampshire, the people we support celebrated together with a Royal Wedding BBQ. They indulged in the same lemon and elderflower cake that Harry and Meghan had chosen for their day, although not quite as many lemons were needed!
Sylvia Malphus, Deputy Manager, said:
We spent a brilliant day outside in the garden celebrating the Royal Wedding together. We had glittery poppers and bubbles and there was plenty of food, music and dancing. Everyone got into the spirit and wore Royal Family face masks while watching the big event. Two people even cut the cake as the happy couple.â
What a wonderful excuse the Royal Wedding was to get together with friends to celebrate.
