Santander bank employees volunteer for FitzRoy
A group of volunteers from Santander’s Petersfield branch spent a day transforming lives for people with learning disabilities.
Six volunteers arrived bright and early at a FitzRoy home in Liss with paintbrushes, ready to paint and weatherproof a new activity cabin in the garden. The cabin will provide a vital extra space for the residents to entertain friends and family or run therapy sessions and activities in private, and without disturbing the rest of the house.
FitzRoy’s Community Fundraising Coordinator, Jim Apted, said
As a local charity, it really is fantastic for an organisation like Santander to get behind us. We always need the support to continue to help transform lives for local people with learning disabilities. Santander’s volunteering day was a total success, and will mean that the new cabin will be protected from the elements for years to come. We are looking forward to their return in the future to help us develop a sensory garden area. Thank you team Santander!

We had a great time volunteering for FitzRoy. Giving back to our local community is important to us as we aren’t just a bank, we are part of that community too.
