After searching for his one true love and even appearing on Channel 4’s The Undateables, Love4Life member James has finally found ‘the one’ and has popped the question to his girlfriend Tasha.
James and Tasha met through Love4Life, FitzRoy’s friendship and dating project based in Hampshire, and had their first date at Ask Italian in January.
They celebrated their first Valentine’s Day together this year, when Tasha said: “We knew straight away we got on really well. We have a lot in common and we chatted about what films we like and what we do in our spare time. We definitely have high hopes for the future.”
And Tasha was right. James decided that the time was right to make his ‘princess’ Tasha his wife-to-be, and got down on one knee at the end of October.
He said: “I knew Tasha was the one really early on, I knew I wanted to make her my wife. It was really difficult during lockdown and not seeing each other but I think it brought us closer together. I decided the time was right to do it. I told my mum I wanted to propose and she came to the jewellery shop with me and helped me to choose a ring for Tasha. I was absolutely buzzing and couldn’t wait to propose.
“I decided to pop the question on Tasha’s birthday to make it even more special. I decorated the room with fairy lights and when Tasha came in I got down on one knee and asked her to be my wife. When she said yes I was just over the moon, we facetimed our parents and they were so happy for us. Thank you Love4Life for finding my wife.”
Tasha said: “I couldn’t believe it when he got down on one knee, I had no idea it was going to happen. I was so excited I had butterflies in my stomach. James is my prince charming and I want to thank Hayley and everyone at Love4Life who helped me to find the one. I have never been so happy in a relationship before and I can’t wait to be married, it’s going to be magical.”
Love4Life coordinator, Hayley, said: “It has been a really wonderful journey to see James find the love of his life. As he mentioned he has been though quite the journey to finding his princess and now he has and I am really proud of him. They are really a great match for one another and it’s really nice to witness something coming together that you have helped to facilitate. Congratulations James and Tasha!”
