Internal Opportunity – Enhanced Deputy Manager (Mental Health & Complex Services)

Location: Nottinghamshire

Due to the continued success of our services, FitzRoy are recruiting for an Enhanced Deputy Manager in the Nottinghamshire area.

This is an internal-only opportunity for a confident and motivated leader with experience of supporting individuals with complex support needs and mental health conditions.

People supported in our services may present with behaviours of concern or have a forensic background. Individuals may be supported within the community under Care and Treatment Orders or sections of the Mental Health Act, requiring a high level of professionalism, awareness and strong leadership.


About the Role

You will support the Registered Manager to oversee and help manage a specialist complex service, supporting individuals with varied mental health conditions and learning disabilities.

The service is split across two adjacent buildings, supporting up to 17 people.

You will work closely with the people we support to help them live fulfilled and happy lives, enabling them to be as independent as possible, develop positive relationships, and feel valued as equal members of their local community as part of their rehabilitation.

You will play a key role in:

Key Responsibilities

Service Development

  • Ensure person-centred approaches are in place to deliver the outcomes the people we support want
  • Develop meaningful activity plans aligned to individual needs, wishes and aspirations
  • Engage with the local community and promote involvement and FitzRoy’s profile
  • Complete regular audits (quality, compliance and performance) and implement improvement plans
  • Contribute to business planning and achieve agreed performance indicators
  • Maintain a safe and compliant environment for individuals, staff and visitors

Team and Resource Management

  • Recruit, develop and motivate staff and volunteers to deliver a high-quality service
  • Set clear expectations and effectively performance manage team members
  • Support staff development and identify areas of responsibility to enhance engagement
  • Manage rotas to ensure effective use of resources
  • Support financial performance and accountability within the service
  • Ensure all records, reports and administrative processes are completed accurately and on time

Communication Excellence

  • Ensure the people we support have a strong voice within their service and the wider community
  • Promote dignity, respect, equality and inclusion at all times
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with families, professionals and local networks
  • Lead clear and effective internal communication
  • Maintain a strong customer focus and drive continuous improvement

About You

To be considered, you must:

  • Be a current FitzRoy employee (internal applicants only)
  • Have 2 years experience supporting individuals with mental health needs and complex behaviours
  • Demonstrate strong leadership capability within a care setting
  • Have excellent organisational, problem-solving and IT skills
  • Be resilient, proactive and able to manage competing priorities

Essential / Desirable:

  • NVQ/Diploma Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
  • PBS Level 4 (or willingness to undertake)
  • Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support and mental health approaches
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex needs
  • Proact-SCIPr instructor (or willingness to train)
