FitzRoy are launching a brand-new supported living service based in Sneinton, Nottingham, opening April 2023

This service will support 14 service users that will often be stepping down from in-patient settings, residential care or they may have lived in the community but experiencing deteriorating mental health or living with family or carers.

You will work with service users to help them live a fulfilled and happy life, whilst living as independently as possible. You will help to enable them to develop positive relationships and to be valued as equal member of their local community as part of their rehabilitation.

We are seeking an Specialist Deputy Manager who has experience of complex support needs and mental health conditions such as bi-polar, schizophrenia, psychosis, emotionally unstable personality disorder, eating disorders, anxiety, and depression. People supported in this service may have behaviours of concern or a forensic background. People can be supported in a community setting who may be supported by a care and treatment order or be supported under sections of the Mental Health Act.

You will join a new team to help launch the new service and is a fantastic opportunity to lead and train a new staff team with strong and positive leadership skills. We provide person centred support, and we are looking for those that are ready for a challenge, can use their own initiative, think outside the box, and are highly motivated and passionate individuals.

Purpose of the Job

To deputise and co-ordinate with the Service Manager to develop services for people with complex support needs, enabling support teams to provide sustainable quality services which truly transform people’s lives. To develop and maintain innovative and engaging activities and plans and work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, professionals, and the local community to achieve objectives using best practice guidelines.

To support the manager in enhancing the reputation of FitzRoy in providing excellent and informed support for people with complex support needs.

To support with managing the quality, compliance and financial requirements of the services for which you are responsible and maintain good communication links regarding changes of situations, issues and challenges etc with the Service Manager.

Outline of Responsibilities and Duties

Service Development

  • Demonstrate leadership in ensuring positive behavioural approaches are embedded in practice to deliver the outcomes identified by the people we support.
  • Undertake functional assessments of behaviour in line with positive behaviour level 4 training.
  • Support the manager in partnership working with complex multi-agency teams, multiple stakeholders and systems.
  • Work in partnership with the business development team to inform the organisation in building new business around complex needs services.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings both internal and external, training courses and network events.
  • Support the manager to assess and identify specific training requirements and collaborate with internal and external professionals to meet the individual needs of people supported
  • Support the manager to enable new services to open and establish as safely and quickly as possible by working in partnership with commissioners and following the agreed mobilisation plan

About you:

  • You will have a PBS level 4 or commitment to undertake this and future level 5
  • NVQ/Diploma Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
  • Proact SCIPr instructor
  • You will have excellent computer skills with attention to detail and problem solving a high priority
  • You will be tenacious and diligent with the ability to multi-task and work to deadlines
