World Mental Health Day: Support at FitzRoy
Today, 10th October, is World Mental Health Day. It is a day to remind us all of the importance of prioritising good mental health.
At FitzRoy we know how important it is to have support when things feel difficult.
We are proud to be a Mindful Employer, a national scheme that shows our commitment to supporting the mental well-being of our staff. Some of the support on offer to FitzRoy colleagues includes:
- HSF Health Plan: This is available to all employees and includes a free 24/7 employee assistance helpline. The helpline provides counselling, emotional support, well-being advice and much more. You can also read HSF’s guide to World Mental Health Day 2025 here.
- Mental Health First Aiders: We have a team of 12 trained and certified colleagues who are ready to provide initial support if you are experiencing mental health challenges. They listen, offer reassurance and can guide you towards the right resources such as the Employee Assistance Programme or external support.
Our Mental Health First Aiders are not counsellors or therapists. They cannot diagnose or replace professional care but they are here to act as a bridge to further support. You might turn to them if you feel anxious, burnt out or overwhelmed. They can also help if personal challenges like family issues, financial stress or grief are affecting you, or if you are worried about a colleague.
On World Mental Health Day, we want to remind all of our colleagues that your well-being matters. If you are struggling, please reach out. Support is here for you.
