“Seeing the people we support enjoy the things they love again is brilliant”

As lockdown eases, the people we support are beginning to experience the things they enjoy the most for the first time in months. From having their favourite meals to seeing their loved ones from a distance, support worker Scott tells us what is has been like working through the highs and lows of lockdown.

Daniella gets ready for FitzRoy’s Around the World challenge

Daniella has taken part in countless half marathons, three marathons and a full Ironman in Copenhagen, and for her next venture she’ll be taking part in FitzRoy’s Around the World in 80 Days Challenge. She’ll be joining people across the country who will be collectively covering 25,127 miles to help transform the lives of the people we support. 

Coronavirus at FitzRoy – the first 100 days

There is no doubt that coronavirus is a crisis for the social care sector. We need to stand together and help each other through the most challenging times we have ever faced, to continue to do everything we can to protect the people we support and our staff.

Visiting a FitzRoy service

The government guidance on visiting care homes sets out the conditions for how visits may be enabled. The decision on whether visits can go ahead is taken by the local Public Health Team and this could change at any time, depending on local cases of coronavirus.

New friendships blossom in lockdown

While facing a tough lockdown with staff members and residents having to self isolate, the team at our registered care home in Kent have worked hard to welcome George (left), who moved in a few weeks ago, who has sparked joy across the service.

Celebrating achievements in lockdown

Learning sign language, improved walking and new independent living skills were all celebrated this month when FitzRoy’s Oxfordshire supported living service looked back at the achievements of their residents over lockdown.
