Celebrating a bright career as a Support Worker - FitzRoy

Celebrating a bright career as a Support Worker

Published: June 17, 2016

We celebrate the fantastic people that work for FitzRoy. Kerensa Palmer, Deputy Manager, wanted to celebrate Bethany, who came to The Maltings Day and Community Service on work experience. Bethany loved her experience so much, she decided to choose being a Support Worker as a career and continue transforming lives.

Bethany spent two weeks at The Maltings on work experience from school. She enjoyed the placement so much, that she approached us and asked if it would be possible for her to volunteer with us. We jumped at the chance to have her as she put 100% into the work she did with us.

Bethany chose to do an apprenticeship in hospitality at college but eventually decided it wasn’t for her. She approached her tutor and asked if she could carry out her learning at The Maltings and transfer her apprenticeship to health and social care. Once again we were happy to take Bethany on board as part of our team, as were so impressed!

She achieved brilliant things working with us and we are so proud of her! Her tutors were also impressed and put her forward for a diploma in health and social care and Bethany passed!

She has now moved on from The Maltings Day and Community Service to work in a residential home. Here, she will gain more experience to further her knowledge and is now training in end of life care. We wish her the best of luck in her fantastic career as a Support Worker.
