Volunteering: “His enthusiasm is invaluable”

Published: June 9, 2016

Many of our volunteers have had successful careers of their own but at some stage in their life, find themselves with time on their hands and all kinds of skills and experiences to share. Ramsey Bayati, Community Fundraising Coordinator, tells us about Brian who does an amazing job volunteering at FitzRoy Trafford Day and Community Centre.

Brian has been supporting FitzRoy Trafford as a volunteer for many years. With a background in IT and an interest in photography, Brian shares his skills with us a few times a week in between his own work commitments. As well as encouraging people with disabilities to get online and improve their computer skills, Brian keeps our computers running smoothly and helps to run our digital photography group. From supporting people to take portraits, to producing short animations, his enthusiasm for the subject is invaluable.

Whether you have a passion for computers, gardening, art, cooking, or something completely different! If you have skills to share with the people we support we’d love to hear from you. Not everyone can give as much time as Brian has over the years. But even if you can spare just a few hours a week, it could make a huge difference to someone’s life!
