We are looking for an experienced Bids Manager/Business Development Lead to join our high performing and ambitious Business Development team.

The role will ensure FitzRoy is identifying, developing, and responding to new opportunities alongside ensuring the sustainability of existing business, in line with our strategic plan.

You’ll be proactive, confident, be able to spin a number of plates at the same time and an excellent team-player. With a track record of managing successful bids and developing partnerships based on collaboration, in the health and social care sector.

Salary £40k – £45k depending on experience.

Home based working – with occasion nationwide travel

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To assess potential tender opportunities, leading the bid/no bid process and actively manage the decision-making process.
  • Manage the bid from Kick Off to submission.
  • Collate relevant content/copy, draft compelling responses and ensure all responses meet the evaluation criteria.
  • Identify and join frameworks, ensuring KPIs are met and reported on
  • Represent and promote FitzRoy externally, developing partnerships and links that meets our business aims, through a wide-reaching network of contacts.
  • Work with the Head of BD and Regional Managers to establish a targeted Business Development strategy.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with commissioners and key stakeholders within Local Authorities
  • Develop sector insight and market intelligence to identify relevant development opportunities.
  • Lead on sector innovations and technologies to improve the FitzRoy approach

Professional Knowledge and Skills

  • A strong background knowledge of health and social care
  • Knowledge of health & social care operational delivery models to support effective business development activity and bid writing
  • Demonstrable knowledge of bid portals, procurement processes, tender documentation, and contract compliance
  • Knowledge and experience of supporting people with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health needs
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of implementing business development strategies and a structured approach to identifying and converting new business
  • Commercial understanding of financially sustainable services and pricing models
  • Exceptional communication and written skills, able to present complex information in an easy-to-understand ways
  • Excellent IT skills
