FitzRoy are recruiting for a PBS practitioner. This a remote role with regular visits to our services. The successful candidate will implement the FitzRoy PBS strategy, creating capable environments that improve wellbeing and quality of life for the people we support, including implementing strategies in coproduction with people who have complex support needs. Their focus will be to work with individuals and their staff teams to provide support that reflects least restrictive practice and enables individuals to live the lives they choose.

Vacancies available:

Salary: £21,423.36 plus £3800 car allowance

  • Monday – Friday
  • 30 hours per week
  • Remote working with travel
  • Fuel allowance paid at 45p per mile
  • A driving licence essential

This role will require travelling to our services in East Anglia and the West Midlands, covering Birmingham, Cambridge, Suffolk, Coventry, Norfolk, Oxford and Malvern so a drivers licence and own car is essential

The post holder will use their expertise to support in the following areas:

• Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Planning

• PBS implementation (including practice workshops)

• Promotion of Active Support and ‘total’ communication approaches

• Training & development of staff

• Functional Behaviour Assessment

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold, or be working towards a formal qualification in: Positive Behaviour Support i.e. PBS Level 4/5.

• Have experience in supporting people who have behaviours of concern; where proactive approaches are required, including training approved under the British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD) accreditation scheme (preferably PROACT SCIPr-UK)

• Hold a full UK driving licence

Your Responsibilities:

• To support and produce PBS plans following good practice guidance in this area including approaches of Active Support, Total Communication, and the use assistive technology to enhance people’s independence, choice, and control.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Excellent self-presentation

• Good knowledge of PBS theory/practice

• Previous work experience supporting people with complex support needs and behaviours of concern
