60 years ago, Elizabeth FitzRoy believed that everyone deserved a fulfilled life with love, choice and independence to be happy, healthy and at home. FitzRoy was founded to support people with learning disabilities to live and thrive in the community, rather than be isolated in institutions.
The people we support at our Hampshire care home Donec Mews have officially kickstarted our Around FitzRoy in 80 Days challenge!
Sarah lives in her own home in Wells-next-the-Sea and is supported there by our Norfolk Support at Home team. Sarah loves musicals and just over two years ago she bought tickets to see the musical Matilda in London.
We have a bright and quiet room available in our Hampshire registered care home, Donec Mews.
Louise is very sociable and outgoing – she loves life. When she communicated that she wanted more independence around her home, the FitzRoy team in East Sussex decided to use technology to support Louise to be empowered to make decisions and have more control in her day to day life.
Wanting to raise money so the people we support can make lifelong memories, Ange has taken on the challenge of swimming 60km to celebrate FitzRoy’s 60th year of transforming lives.
