Silver Birches – London

Silver Birches is a purpose-built, fully accessible care home in Hampton Wick specialising in support for adults with learning disabilities and autistic people.

Our experienced team provides 24-hour support, shaped around each person’s needs, choices and interests. The home is made up of two five-person flats, giving people the benefits of living in a smaller household alongside opportunities to be part of the wider Silver Birches community.

We have experience supporting people with changing physical needs, epilepsy and complex communication needs. FitzRoy’s specialist support team are on hand to provide additional expertise around people’s feelings of anxiety, distress or poor mental health and what might prevent them from living a gloriously ordinary life.

Who we support

We support adults with learning disabilities and autistic people. Many people we support at Silver Birches also have physical disabilities.

Our experienced team provides support 24 hours a day and can support people with a range of individual needs, including mobility and physical support, epilepsy, complex communication needs and behaviours where Specialist Support is appropriate.

We also have experience adapting people’s support as their physical and other needs change over time.

Silver Birches is a registered care home and does not have on-site nurses or provide nursing care.

An accessible home

Silver Birches was purpose-built to support people with different and changing physical needs. The home is fully wheelchair accessible, with:

• lift access between floors
• accessible bedrooms
• accessible bathrooms
• specialist baths
• hoists and other moving and handling equipment
• spacious communal areas
• accessible garden and summer house.

There are lots of activities to get involved with including dance therapy, baking and music. The home also has two vehicles, including one adapted for wheelchair users, supporting people to get out and about and maintain relationships with family and friends.

Support built around you

Everyone is different, so we get to know what matters to each person and build their support around their needs, choices, interests and relationships.

That might mean getting out in the local area, seeing family and friends, enjoying activities at home or having time and space to yourself. We support people to communicate in ways that work for them and to have as much choice and control over their daily life as possible.

Silver Birches is registered with CQC as FitzRoy, Teddington. The service is rated Good overall and Good for Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led.
