Wensum Way is a registered care home consisting of two flats within a purpose built house. Home to eight people, these flats are situated in the pleasant market town of Fakenham in Norfolk. Our committed staff team provide support on a day to day basis to ensure your needs are fully met.

Our Commitment

We will encourage and support you to follow your own interests, both at home and out in the local community. We can also support you to attend local adult education courses and a range of leisure activities. Supported by a dedicated staff team, we will encourage you to participate in the general running of the house and to get involved with activities within the local community. Popular activities include going to football matches, taking trips to the Norfolk Broads and going bowling. Our staff will take the time to get to know you and listen carefully to your likes and dislikes in order to support you to lead the life you choose. Professional services, such as reflexologists, are regularly welcomed.

Location

Wensum Way is situated in a residential area close to the market town of Fakenham, ten miles from the beautiful Norfolk coast. It is within walking distance of the local town centre, with easy access to the amenities and shops in the centre. The adapted vehicle enables you to go on long distance trips and regular visits to family and friends.

Facilities

Both flats have a large lounge and kitchen. The kitchens have been recently refurbished to make them more accessible and easier to use. There are also two bathrooms and shower rooms as well as a popular sensory room which you will be able to use regularly. If you choose to live here, you will have your own bedroom which we will support you to decorate. There is also a large garden and an adapted vehicle which is wheelchair friendly and can be used regularly to access local amenities.

Room available in our warm and friendly home

We have a room available in our warm, bright and fully accessible care home. The room is on the first floor, but there is a stairlift for residents to use. The other seven people who live in the home are aged between mid 30s to late 70s, who communicate verbally and through Makaton. This is a quiet room, with the option of using the first-floor lounge or the main communal area downstairs, and also has its own front door.
