The residents at FitzRoy The Croft in Kent have Jake the dog to visit once a week. Their four legged friend is a Pets As Therapy dog.
FitzRoy Trafford Day and Community Centre is a hub of activity that offers a wide range of sessions for people with learning disabilities.
FitzRoy Leo Trust in Kent is a registered care home which has its very own horticulture project on site. The project takes lots of hard work and dedication from residents, staff, and volunteers.
Marcus is a supported volunteer at FitzRoy Malvern. Once a week he works alongside a member of staff, Nigel, to help maintain the beautiful gardens at the service.
Love4Life is FitzRoy’s friendship and dating project for people with learning disabilities and autism. The project doesn’t receive government funding so relies solely on fundraised money. This also means that it depends on volunteers generously giving up their time to help run over ten events for its 100+ members every month.
FitzRoy is governed by a Board of Trustees, all of which volunteer their time and expertise. Andy Lee, who has been on the board since 2014, told us why he became a Trustee after retiring from a senior position in Lloyds Bank.
FitzRoy Day and Community centre in Petersfield Hampshire, On Track, are famous for their fantastic drama group. Recently some of the members were asked to perform at a drop in club for the over 60’s run by Brendoncare.
FitzRoy were out in force this year after the huge success of the 2016 Portsmouth Dragon Boat Festival. Not only did we have a boat full of almost 20 FitzRoy staff, friends, and family, we had a further three boats full of fundraisers on the water!
At FitzRoy, we encourage the people we support to have an active say on the services they receive. That’s why we trained some of the people we support to become FitzRoy Quality Advisors.
