Senior Support Worker – Emsworth
ApplyDue to internal promotion, Fitzroy are recruiting a new Senior Support worker for our supported living service in Emsworth, Hampshire. As we enter an exciting period of growth and expansion there has never been a better time to join us!
At Lane End Drive we support up to 17 adults with learning disabilities with all aspects of daily life, from personal care, administering medication and taking part in in house and community activities.

Please note, the successful candidate must be willing to complete Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading, the cost will be covered by FitzRoy.
Vacancies available
- Day shift: £14 per hour weekdays and £15.40 weekends.
- Full time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Enhanced pay rate for overtime.
- Time and a half or double time for public holidays.
- 30 days holiday when you start (FTE).
Senior Support Worker Hours
Shifts are 7.5 hours and a full-time contract is 37.5 hours (5 shifts a week):
Morning shift: 7am-2.30pm
Afternoon shift: 2.30pm-10pm
You will work a set pattern of morning and afternoon shifts and there may also overtime for any staff members who are looking to earn more. Weekend working on a rota basis is essential, but you will have the time off in the week.
The Role
- Support the management team by coordinating key tasks and responsibilities to ensure high standards of personalised care are consistently delivered.
- Support the effective management of quality, compliance, and financial requirements within the service.
- Act as a positive role model, promoting excellent practice, professional standards, and person-centred support.
- Act as the senior point of contact for the staff team in the absence of the manager, providing appropriate leadership, guidance, and support.
- Work closely with the management team to ensure key operational tasks are completed effectively and within required timescales.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, professionals, internal and external stakeholders, and members of the local community.
- Work collaboratively to achieve service objectives, following best-practice guidance, organisational policies, and FitzRoy Values.
- Provide clear direction, guidance, and support to the team, encouraging staff to develop their skills and confidence.
- Promote person-centred approaches that enable the people we support to lead fulfilling, active, and meaningful lives within their communities.
- Carry out support worker duties to a consistently high standard, ensuring the needs, preferences, dignity, and wellbeing of the people we support are prioritised.
- Contribute to a positive culture of open communication, information sharing, teamwork, and constructive feedback.
- Support the management team in identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions to maintain and enhance service quality.
