Learning Disability Week 2020 celebrates friendships in lockdown

This year’s Learning Disability Week, taking place from 15 June to 21 June, celebrates the importance of friendships during lockdown. Because of the pandemic, we have all been living life in the ‘new normal’ of lockdown. This means that many people with a learning disability are at risk of feeling isolated, as they have been unable to see their friends and family.

Putting the people we support first during lockdown

When it was announced that schools were having to shut due to coronavirus, FitzRoy support worker Adrianne made the difficult decision for her children to live with their father during lockdown so she could continue her vital work.

On Track provides ‘activities on wheels’ for members

When the strict social distancing measures were put in place last month, we had to close our day services to protect the people we support from contracting coronavirus. Since then, our incredible support workers have been working tirelessly to provide ‘activities on wheels’, making sure everyday life remains as normal – and fun – as possible for our day service members.
